Pre-service
RAFT, about 24 hours (12 live sessions of 2 hours; self-paced about 22), plus orientation, mandatory reporting and safe sleep.
Ongoing continuing education
30 hours per 2-year certification period, per parent; an approved individual plan may reduce it and the Department may require more; support group and mentoring credit capped at 12 hours per 24 months.
Renewal term
2 years.
Kinship difference
DISPUTED — the rule applies the 30 hours to "each resource parent or relative resource parent" while the ODHS website says it applies to non-relative resource parents and that RAFT is not required for relatives.
